Missions

We aim to preserve, protect, support the development of the research, as well as promote the local and professional knowledge in Thai traditional and Thai Lanna medicines to be widely accepted domestically and internationally and for the general public health benefits.

Policies and Plans

  1. To build up and strengthen the sharing of the knowledge existed in Thai traditional knowledge in order to rise up its professional standard and practical applicability.
  2. To create the collaboration among all relevant public and private sectors in order to enhance the service quality, pedagogy, research, and development of the herbal products to reach the qualified and standardized level.
  3. To instill the value of trust among people in caring, protecting, and healing own health with the use of Thai traditional knowledge.

Purposes

  1. To actively support the establishment of Thai traditional and Thai Lanna medical institutions in the area of Chiang Mai Province for the higher systematic schooling process with the goals of producing the qualified human resources and labors in Thai traditional and Thai Lanna medicines professions at the stage of certified license as stated in Thai Traditional Medicines Act: 2013 (2556 BC).
  2. To actively support the establishment of Thai traditional and Thai Lanna clinics or hospitals in the area of Chiang Mai Province in the form of fully integrated service to provide the high quality of medical services to the patients.
  3. To actively support the establishment of herbs research center and the publications of Thai traditional and Thai Lanna medical knowledge and operations as the guidelines for professional treatment to the patients.
  4. To be the center in collecting all relevant knowledge, information, and news concerning Thai traditional and Thai Lanna medicines as well as to be the forum for exchanging the ideas and knowledge in the field.

To promote the public relations among relevant public and private sectors in order to enhance the level of trust to the public in applying Thai traditional and Thai Lanna medical knowledge for health care.

Thai Traditional Medicine

Thai Traditional Medicine is the health treatment for both usual and unusual conditions by using the theory of elements healthcare balancing and Anatomy; the medical scientific principle.

The wisdom of Thai Traditional Medicine was gathered from the treatment experiences since the ancient time with the belief that body and mind is unite and influenced by environment, according to that the treatment should be holistic and it is relevant the philosophy of Thai Lifestyle.

 

History of Thai Traditional Medicine

Thai Traditional Medicine was originated from Ayurveda – the traditional medicine of India. All traditional physicians are worshiped Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha – personal physician of Lord of Buddha  as “Supreme Master of Traditional Medicine”

 

Thai Traditional Medicine Institutions

In order to gain more confident on service quality of Thai Traditional Medicine, Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office and Confederation Medicine Thailand have organized the service quality assessment for institutions in private sector in year 2016 by evaluating on place, people, diagnosis and follow-up and sustainable management.
